Could not have come any sooner, for American Idol to open it’s gates! What other show goes out for months to circle America and audition American idol wanna-bes? What other show will give someone a real shot at fame, that can outlast their own lives? American Idol. What show is watched more than any other, in the history of broadcasting?

Last night, we were able to see that first light, that glimmer in the raw auditions. They are one of my favorite partitions of American Idol. It gives me hope that, even if I can’t sing; I can still auditions and show up on TV to wow a couple of tone deaf people in the viewing audience.

Millions of people showed up for the auditions, hoping to be the next American Idol. God bless every one of you, crazies. It’s like finding a needle in the universe, to get into the Hollywood tryouts.

Last night, we saw a few hopeful American Idol contenders present their stuff. Some people that auditioned last night, got the “Hollywood” nod. This year, we will all get to see more nods than ever before. In quick time, many of these Hollywood hopefuls will get cut, leaving it to the others that really have that spark the judge panel deems golden.

We all watched a few auditions get that yellow slip of paper go forward. We also were able to laugh and cringe at many others that fell flat, but at least they tried.

There were a few great moments. One moment last night, not to be missed: Kara had a cat fight with an almost naked girl, Katrina. Great body, great voice. Bikini girl got the Hollywood nod, but Kara went a bit crazy on her. Unless bikini girl can backpedal real fast, Kara will be sending her home from Hollywood before she can get her bags unpacked.

American Idol auditions are elements of the show that we all count on seeing. This year, they are actually  voiding out some of the worst auditions for us to. This might not be a bad move. If American Idol were to include even 25% of the raw audition tapes for us to see, the real show wouldn’t start until 2012.

Savor these new auditions while you can. Soon, it will be time for the real show to kick into full swing. Then it’s going to get really brutal with the cuts. In time, a lot of the auditions that we couldn’t see on American Idol, should surface down the cable dial or on “You Tube”.
